Arizona Voices

Just in time for Arizona’s 102nd birthday today,  a new website has become available that allows voters in Arizona to comment on pending bills introduced in our Legislature.  The site at http://www.azvoices.gov/  indicates that it “is the first statewide civic engagement platform of its kind, where you can rate pending legislation and discuss issues that impact Arizona. All viewpoints are welcome so long as comments are respectful.”   Users can find links to bills that have been introduced into both the Arizona House and Senate so users may read what the bill is about and then vote on it and provide comments on the bills. The site also has an Idea Lab that allows users to post and discuss ideas for improving Arizona.

An article in today’s Arizona Republic has more information on the website and notes that the website was an idea developed by Senator Bob Worsley, R-Mesa and was created using private donations.
