Earth Day 2013

Today is Earth Day which marks the 43rd anniversary of the first Earth Day that was held on April 22, 1970! President Obama’s Presidential Proclamation for Earth Day 2013 highlights many of the environmental challenges facing our planet. You can find information about Earth Day and its history on the EPA’s website as well as a map outlining Earth Day events across the United States.  Other websites that may be of interest are NASA and US Department of Energy.  NASA has some classic earth images and other information not only in honor of Earth Day but in celebration of Earth Month.  The US Department of Energy is offering a Google+ Hangout this afternoon in honor of Earth Day at their website  where experts will answer consumer questions on energy saving and energy efficiency.   Do your part and celebrate Earth Day!
