Thanksgiving Holiday: Thursday & Friday Law Library Closed

A first for Maricopa County Superior Court – Please be advised that the Superior Court, including the Law Library and Self-Service Centers, will not be open the day after Thanksgiving.

In 2010 the Arizona Legislature passed HB 2109 which provided that “[W]ith the approval of the presiding judge of the county, business shall be transacted in the division of the superior court of that county on the second Monday of October if the board of supervisors designates the fourth Friday of November a legal holiday in place of the second Monday in October.”

Superior Court Administrative Order 2012-010 which can be found at http://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.gov/superiorcourt/administrativeorders/adminorders/admin%20order%202012-010.pdf states:

IT IS ORDERED effective in 2012, the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County and the Maricopa County Justice Courts shall conduct business on the second Monday in October, and the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County and the Maricopa County Justice Courts shall be closed on the Friday following the Thanksgiving Holiday in November as a legal holiday.
